Let’s walk out of Kihei Kai Nani gate and turn right on South Kihei Road.
Maui Ocean Arts gallery (practically next door to Kihei Kai Nani) is locally owned and carries a nice selection of jewelry and artistic gifts. If you want a souvenir made locally in Hawaii, often one of a kind, definitely stop by here.
Cafe O’Lei – both a staple and an attraction – is just a 3-4 walk from Kihei Kai Nani. No views here, but the inside is awesome, clean and spacious. Friendly service, fresh mouthwatering dishes and reasonable prices.
Walk another minute, and you come to Hawaiian Moons Natural Foods – a local and organic grocery store and deli. It’s a gem of a health food store, lots of fresh, organic and local produce. Their açaí bowls are to die for and the hot food bar rivals Whole Foods and wins!
And just another short minute of relaxed walking will take you to an absolutely unique restaurant (Maui is lucky!) – Koiso Sushi Bar. A tiny place seats only 15 people, who are being served by one chef and one server. The place is hugely popular, so book as early as you can. This review might persuade you to reserve Koiso before buying your flights to Maui.
