The Beachcomber bungalow is a tropical island style lodging... off on a dirt road, not on the main hwy, less than a minute walk to the beach. It is ideal for honeymooners, but also perfect for a family.
If your looking for a quiet, private and peaceful place to stay on your vacation, this may be the place for you. The Beachcomber Bungalow is an open and airy comfortable beach house, with wood and tile floors, high open beam ceilings and skylights in almost every room. It is tucked away in Haena, off the main road in a safe and quiet area, just steps from the beach. You will be lulled to sleep at night by the sound of the ocean. The white sandy beach out front has epic snorkeling and swimming (seasonal). You can walk on the beach and pick shells, all the way to the end of the road if you want to. It is less than a mile from Tunnels beach.
It is located just west of Kepuhi Point in Haena on the north shore of Kauai. You are a ten minute drive from the sleepy town of Hanalei, where you will find an abundance of restaurants and stores to fill all your shopping needs. Just three minutes in the other direction leads you along some of the most scenic, snorkeling beaches to the end of the road, the gateway to the spectacular Na Pali Coast and hiking trail.
This beach house can accommodate people that need wheelchair accessibility. This house in on the ground, not up on stilts. There is a ramp to the front door, and a roll in shower in both the bathrooms. The whole house is not completely wheelchair accessible, the other bedrooms have a few steps up into them. But there is a nice open layout throughout the house on wood or tile floors for easy getting around whether your in a wheelchair or not.
There is a king bed in the master bedroom and a queen-size bed in the other 2 bedrooms. This house has been lovingly cared for and has beautiful hand made Hawaiian hardwood kitchen counters. The kitchen has a open and easy design for cooking meals and has all the amenities to accommodate cooking for a family.
There is a nice dining area off the kitchen where you can eat your meals. There are woven bamboo panels and polished black bamboo accents on many of the walls in the house.
Please note that this house is near the ocean and is considered the tsunami evacuation zone. The address is 7183 Alealea Rd. Information on evacuation procedures is located in the information folder on the kitchen counter in the house. Evacuation procedures are: Go right out the driveway, turn R on OneOne rd. Turn left onto Kuhio Hwy. Stay on this road all the way to Princeville, which is considered high ground.

View More...Rates are based on 5-person or less occupancy. No Smoking anywhere on the property. You will have to go out to the road to smoke. Pets NOT allowed. We will send you a rental agreement contract. This house is not appropriate for any type of parties or gatherings of any kind. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood and would not be a good fit if you are a loud and boisterous group that stays up late. We are looking to rent to mature adults looking for a quiet and peaceful place for their vacation. Children are welcome.
Rental Policies
Cancellation Policy
All cancellations will incur a $100.00 service fee for ANY cancellation. Cancellation of reservations 60 days prior to reservation date (90 days June 1 to Sept. 1 and Dec. 15 to Jan. 5) will receive a full refund less the service fee. Cancellation of reservations less then 60 days prior to reservation date (90 days June 1 to Sept. 1 and Dec. 15 to Jan. 5) will receive a refund, minus service fee, if accommodations can be re-booked and occupied during reserved time period. No funds will be returned for a positive covid test or delay in testing results. We recommend getting travel insurance.
Payment Terms
50% down payment due at confirmation of reservation. The balance is due 60 days prior to the check in date.
Security Deposit
A $500.00 security damage deposit is collected. Guests are responsible for leaving premises in a proper condition. If rental unit is left excessively dirty, or if there is damage, a charge will be deducted from security damage deposit, and guests will be notified. The S.D. is refunded 10 days to 2 weeks after the check out date, provided there are no damages or missing items.
Release of Liability
Guests are granted access to Rental Property and many of amenities that exist within the property. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Guests agree to use any personal and real property belonging to the Homeowner at their own risk and agree to release Homeowner of all liability associated with using such property. Homeowner cannot be held responsible or liable for injuries that occur while Guest is in possession or use of property. Guests agree to further to take on any liability associated with a third-party guest visiting the Rental Property or use of the Homeowner's property. Homeowner does not permit use of any of Homeowners Property other than by the Guest and hereby disclaims any claims of liability associated with the Rental Property or property within and around the rental unit.
House Rules
This house is in a residential area and is not appropriate for any type of parties, gatherings, or receptions. Also no loud music, loud voices or loud laughter after 9:00 pm.
We want to rent to mature adults looking for peace and quiet, not to party.
The person renting on the rental contract must be present the full stay and be at least 25 yrs old.
No Smoking anywhere on the property.
No animals
No parking on the street (there is room for 4 cars in the driveway)

Tropical vacation
We had a great time staying at this property. It was as listed, and we enjoyed the very short walk to the beach. The house had everything we needed. Acacia was very helpful, easy to contact and was very responsive.

Haena Cottage
Lovely 3 bedroom home. Very near beach - a two minute walk. The house is tucked between two adjacent homes.
Definitely could use new bed linens.
